From strange radio waves that permeate the entire Universe, to cataclysmic x-ray outbursts in the Milky Way’s spiral arms and everything in between, Cosmic Light is the most visually arresting and colourful space title in the world.

Since the turn of the 21st Century, groundbreaking observatories and instruments have expanded our visibility of the cosmos, well beyond the limits of the human eye. Giant telescopes on the ground (such as the VLT in Chile) and superstar space observatories (such as the James Webb Space Telescope) are working in concert with each other to explore the Universe across the entirety of the electromagnetic spectrum. Visible light makes up a small fraction of the radiation we receive from space, and the demand for discovery has driven technological advances that allow astronomers to observe everything from the hum of young stars sending radio waves across the Galaxy, to intense bursts of gamma radiation released by energetic events beyond imagination.

As a result, a dizzying variety of strange and wonderful images have been produced, some of which combine multiple forms of light to illuminate invisible details and unlock scientific secrets about the sky. In Cosmic Light, this wide assortment of imagery is brought together for the first time.
