Picked up this book after it was commended at the BMA book awards and was not disappointed. Excellent variety of topics, delightful layout, and lots of pointers to keep you interested and wanting more. Up to date but with solid principles that will last. * Amazon reviewer *
This book was an absolute delight and joy. It is highly informative and well writted in language sufficiently engaging for both experts and non-experts... a balanced, understandable and informative read. This book sent a twitter of excitement around the office when it arrived and a month on we are still talking about it - that has to be the sign of something outstanding. * British Journal of Cardiac Nursing *
Every case is exciting and a challenge, it is excellently structured, it is richly illustrated with high-quality images including electrocardiogram, coronary angiography, echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, etc. which makes the patient cases very comprehensive. The concise and easy-to-read-format of this book will enable the reader to make accurate diagnoses and allow evidence-based treatment of patients. * Cardio Pulse *
Heard about this book from the BMA awards, went to the trust library to borrow one and check it out. Absolutely superb. Written by trainees and edited by people like Prof Redwood, it provides a very clear understanding of important Cardiology topics. What makes it so unique as well compared to other texts is it is very well written and flows nicely, making it easy to read. Chapters are straight to the point, and the cases will easily resonate with every doctor who has either done a general medical job or have an interest in Cardiology. Well-referenced and makes you appreciate the numerous clinical trials and evidence base that have led to modern day cardiology practice. I find the 'Clinical Tips' and 'Expert Comments' boxes highly educational and they have certainly influenced the way I manage my patients on the wards. Highly recommended. * Amazon reviewer *
