4 Stars! "This book does a superb job explaining not only the mechanics of various surgical procedures but also sharing the author’s expert tips on how to do it “just right,” common mistakes to avoid, and basic details, such as the name of instruments he uses and the type of suture. The book’s purpose is to teach dermatologic procedural skills to dermatologists, dermatology residents, and other physicians. The audience is dermatologists and dermatology residents. [It] includes very good diagrams showing suturing techniques,... [and] it has thoughtful explanations for when a particular suture would be used and how to stop bleeding during surgery. There is a short chapter on implementing ultrasound in a dermatology practice for diagnostic evaluation. It is not sufficient for readers to become proficient in ultrasonography, but it opens the door for possibilities-the writing is clear and concise.... This is an unpretentious book that accomplishes its teaching objectives. I wholeheartedly endorse it." Review by Patricia Wong, MD (Private Practice), ©Doody's Review Service, 2025.
