This is an interesting examination of a controversial figure. Svendsen's prose is familiar, easy to understand, and occasionally hilarious. Moving between solid scholarship and personal experience with ease, this book provides readers with a modern sense of both Loki and Sigyn. Wait, was I not just sitting in a drinking hall listening to an excited Lokean drinking Jagermeister and telling stories while standing on a table? I also found the main stories - yes, they're very important (and funny)! But there were also lessons about bad decisions, accountability, love, devotion, and compassion as well.
