Phonics for Pupils with Special Educational Needs, 2nd edition is a systematic, synthetic phonics programme designed for learners with additional needs of any age. Fully revised, this 2nd edition introduces concepts associated with understanding and managing the advanced alphabetic code, whilst cumulatively working through its sounds and sound-spellings (graphemes).

Covering 8 key sounds and 1 sound-spelling (/sh/ /th/ /ng/ /ch/ /k/ qu /f/ /l/ /s/), each section contains over 35 engaging activities, centred on: understanding that some sound-spellings are made up of two or more letters and some sounds are represented in more than one way.
