As the first IAU symposium solely dedicated to inclusivity and diversity, it underscored the International Astronomical Union's commitment to fostering an equitable scientific community. The scientific program featured a diverse range of contributions structured around key themes, such as learning from best practices, identifying and addressing barriers to access, fostering a more inclusive climate in academia and research, new technologies for accessibility, astronomy for society, and Sustainable Development Goals. A key outcome was the Mitaka Resolutions, shaping future IAU policies on Equity, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. These resolutions align with the IAU Strategic Plan 2020–2030, setting the stage for concrete actions presented at the 2021 IAU General Assembly in Busan.
