You Can Knit It All

This collection of 65 easy hats, shawls, pullovers and blankets has come from the archives of Knit Simple magazine. The magazine focused on beautiful designs that would be accessible to newer knitters, and this book aims to empower every crafter with a selection of makes that are both striking to look at and manageable to make – without ever becoming boring.

The designs use standard-weight yarns, making getting supplies super-easy, and for any technique you’re not sure about, there is a clearly illustrated step-by-step guide at the back of the book. There are also plenty of top tips dotted throughout the collection, guiding you through different skills as you come to them. The patterns may be simple and accessible, but they don’t shy away from skills some knitters might consider dauntingly complex, such as lace, cables, intarsia and brioche.

The 65 patterns include hats, slippers, headbands, shawls, scarves, pullovers, cardigans and homeware. There are traditionally pieced jumpers as well as top-down in-the-round ones, and favourite makes include the Candy Cabin Afghan and Pillow, which fuse an Impressionist colour palette with a traditional log cabin quilt; the Pumpkin Spice Pullover, which is knitted in the round from the bottom up then joined for a pretty colour work yoke; and the beautiful Peek-a-Boo Lace Shawl, which makes a strikingly complex-looking knit available to crafters at all levels.
