Dark Mermaids

As Police officer Sophia Künstler slips through the backstreets of Berlin looking for sex, Kathe, her old GDR friend, is murdered in the park near Sophia's apartment. Outside Sophia’s home a frightened girl waits. Sophia is thrown back into a shocking past when she returns to her East German home town of Breden to investigate Kathe’s murder. She must confront the horrors she left behind as a teenager in a secret and bloody flight west, orchestrated by her enigmatic father Petrus. But as old lies are laid bare Sophie begins to realize the secrets she is hunting down are also her own.
