An absolutely captivating book; beautifully illustrated and full of fascinating facts. 100 Endangered Species is written with the purpose of highlighting the concern about the top 100 endangered animals. Clear, succinct and scientific vocabulary and the detailed yet simply laid out illustrations focus the reader’s attention on how distinctive each animal is and how each one enriches our world. It is packed full of engaging, relevant, information with an impact on the reader as they read. There is so much to learn and be genuinely absorbed by. Although the author is widening our knowledge of a desperately worrying situation, the book feels empowering and hopeful. 100 Endangered Species is fantastic non- fiction with a real sense of purpose.

100 Endangered Species has the cute appeal of a gift book but an admirably serious purpose. ...The graphic illustrations capture the spirit of the animals in a personal way and are accompanied by some fascinating facts that make it fun to browse through. ...a summary of current conservation actions to address the threats to the survival of these amazing animals emphasises that things that can still be done to help them. We all need hope, most especially children.

This book provides a fantastic introduction to endangered species for children (recommended age 8+). The layout of this book is very clear and user friendly. The contents pages have small illustrations of each species and their names making it easy to find the species you’re interested in learning about. Each spread, with a beautiful accompanying illustration, is dedicated to a species with their Red List status

...thank you Rachel Hudson @rhudsonillustration for writing such an important book that will hopefully encourage 1000s of people to help these amazing species directly or indirectly.

This book was so exciting and interesting to explore. It has amazing illustrations and I really love how each page features a different endangered species with key information and facts about the species and the work being done to try and save them. The environmental issues facing our planet are a really important issue to me so I think this is a wonderful book for any child’s bookshelf. It’s amazing for helping kids from about age 6 and up to understand the importance of all the different species on the planet and the impact that we as humans are having on them and their habitats. This book has brilliant illustrations, a helpful glossary at the back, and really accessible information. It’s a super book to dip in and out of and to come back to again and again.

This square chunky book is a joy to flip through…sort of. ...This would be a super handy reference material in a classroom. Or, if you happen to reside with a tiny professor, perhaps a bedtime story.

100 Endangered Species by @rhudsonillustration is a little book that packs a BIG punch! This brilliant introductory collection of 100 animals that are in danger is a powerful reminder of how fragile the planet is. The little book is packed with interesting creatures, succinct text, maps, charts and little snippets on what we can do to help. The design of the book is engaging and the repeating layout makes it easy for children to navigate the page. But it is the illustrations that sing. Rachel hasn’t been afraid to leave white space, or place a piece of art in the corner of a page. It makes the animals stand out starkly against their backdrop, letting them impart their message with courage and simplicity. I love it!

If you want a book that has bold and beautiful illustrations, is jam packed with facts and information and is for all the family then this is for you! This book is also enlightening as I was quite shocked at some of the endangered animals on the list and how little time some of them have left! ...The illustrations are beautiful and the colours are fabulous and as a family, we totally love this wonderful and sad but informative book.

My children always love information books that have interesting and unusual facts, but especially books that they can read a bit at a time and return to again and again and again. I love that this is educating both teacher and students on the very real issue of endangered animals. ...This is a hook of urgency, but not one without hope.
