This book provides a fantastic introduction to endangered species for children (recommended age 8+). The layout of this book is very clear and user friendly. The contents pages have small illustrations of each species and their names making it easy to find the species you’re interested in learning about. Each spread, with a beautiful accompanying illustration, is dedicated to a species with their Red List status

This book was so exciting and interesting to explore. It has amazing illustrations and I really love how each page features a different endangered species with key information and facts about the species and the work being done to try and save them. The environmental issues facing our planet are a really important issue to me so I think this is a wonderful book for any child’s bookshelf. It’s amazing for helping kids from about age 6 and up to understand the importance of all the different species on the planet and the impact that we as humans are having on them and their habitats. This book has brilliant illustrations, a helpful glossary at the back, and really accessible information. It’s a super book to dip in and out of and to come back to again and again.

The little book is packed with interesting creatures, succinct text, maps, charts and little snippets on what we can do to help. The design of the book is engaging and the repeating layout makes it easy for children to navigate the page. But it is the illustrations that sing. Rachel hasn’t been afraid to leave white space, or place a piece of art in the corner of a page. It makes the animals stand out starkly against their backdrop, letting them impart their message with courage and simplicity. I love it!

If you want a book that has bold and beautiful illustrations, is jam packed with facts and information and is for all the family then this is for you! This book is also enlightening as I was quite shocked at some of the endangered animals on the list and how little time some of them have left! ...The illustrations are beautiful and the colours are fabulous and as a family, we totally love this wonderful and sad but informative book.
