Surprisingly easy to learn and quick to work up, corner-to-corner crochet is perfect for making geometric patterns and colourful designs, and creating blankets, Afghans and throws with ease. In this new book from crochet designer and best-selling author Leonie Morgan you’ll discover a delightful collection of geometric corner-to-corner blankets.
With a mixture of all-in-one and join-as-you-go block patterns, and a range of blanket sizes, there is plenty for C2C lovers and row-by-row enthusiasts to enjoy. Each beautiful design has a clear, written pattern, an easy-to-follow chart, and large, detailed photographs of the finished throw. The designs range from simple to more advanced skill levels and feature a mix of bold, geometric designs and colourful stripes.
A comprehensive techniques section includes step-by-step photographs of how to work the diagonal block stitches needed to create corner-to-corner blankets. Also included are useful techniques and tips for yarn management, using bobbins, joining as you go, and simple edgings for corner-to-corner projects.
With 18 original designs to choose from, as well as 2 smaller projects, there is a wealth of inspiration to send you running for your crochet hook!
Autumn is the perfect time to choose a new blanket project for cosy evenings in. Corner-to-corner crochet is brilliant for quick geometric patterned throws, and it's a surprisingly easy technique to master. Here Leonie Morgan shares 18 stunning beginner, intermediate and more advanced designs, with patterns ranging from rhombus to zigzags, diamond tiles to chevrons, and rainbows and hearts, all in an array of uplifting colourways.
* Inside Crochet *With 18 original designs and two smaller projects, there's a wealth of inspiration in this book for beginners and experts alike. Corner-to-corner crochet is easy to learn, quick to work up and ideal for geometric patterns and colourful designs.
* Machine Knitting Monthly *I’ve only recently learnt crochet and to say I am hooked (no pun intended!) is an understatement! I have already bought an earlier Search Press book that Leonie Morgan wrote which is incredible so I was super excited to see there was a new book!
Corner to Corner Blankets to Crochet is another fabulous book for anyone interested in crochet! Instead of working in the round, like you would for Granny Squares, corner to corner crochet involves working diagonally.
If you haven’t tried this technique before then this book will help to guide you through it with 18 blanket designs and 2 additional projects, clear photos, and written instructions along with colour charts. The book starts with a visually engaging contents list (I love it when there are images so you can see straight away which projects are enticing you in!). Chapter 1 covers the techniques needed to do corner to corner including materials, stitches, joining, tension, blocking and more. Chapter 2 is the blanket patterns (and chapter 3 includes the 2 further projects). All of the photography in this book is sensational! It is so bright, vibrant, clear and engaging.
Each project is clearly presented with a title, skill level, hook size, finished project size, yarn required and the abbreviations used. There is then a colour chart as well as written instructions for you to follow to create your own corner to corner project!
I’ve never done corner to corner before so I came to this as a complete newbie. I found the book so inspiring and I was keen to start straight away. The patchwork half squares project immediately drew me in! I followed the book’s instructions (along with a quick watch of a corner-to-corner video tutorial by fellow Search Press author Bella CoCo) and I am so, so pleased with the results!
It is safe to say that I well and truly love corner-to-corner crochet, and I love this book! Leonie Morgan has created another fabulous and inspiring crochet book!
