Teanga don Tost

This original Irish language monograph provides novel and contemporary readings of the literary works of two major Irish language writers, Cathal O Searcaigh and Micheal O Conghaile. In recent years there have been vast developments in queer Irish language art, but academic responses have been lacking. This work examines two writers through the lens of queer theory, finding new experimental ways to assess their work in terms of sexuality, identity and desire. With gender and identity being discussed often in today’s discourse, this monograph is a timely contribution which adds to the fields of both Irish language studies and literature.
