"This book was a treat. Rather than discuss Kahlo’s life in total – the authors here discuss her art, love life and is more of an emotional portrait of this wonderful Mexicana. We read poems written by various poets, and see a number of Kahlo’s letters.

Of course, her lifelong relationship with the legendary artist Diego Rivera predominates. I have been lucky enough to see his murals in Mexico City – absolutely mind blowing! Their relationship was certainly (mutually) turbulent. I learned about Kahlo’s many relationships throughout her life with men and women, Rivera often around the place.

Kahlo was unhealthy for most of her adult life, mainly because of a bus accident she experienced in 1925 when she was only eighteen.
