Punk - A People's History

Released to celebrate the 50th anniversary year of the Sex Pistols’ ‘Anarchy in the UK’, Punk – A People’s History is an oral history of punk in the words of over 100 fans, music writers and musicians. It tells the story of Britain’s punk rock years with the Pistols – ‘les enfants terrible’ – at its core. Mixing fan stories about the Pistols with memories of the other leading bands of the era, this book argues that 'punk’s not dead' by showing the ongoing influence of the Sex Pistols. 

The book includes memories from older punks who saw the Pistols in 1976 and 1977 through to young punks who have only recently discovered the band. 

The Sex Pistols are the most influential band of the last 50 years and the book covers the key events in their career and reflects on their legacy.
