Travels to the Ends of the Earth is a compilation of 250 images painted and photographed by the author during his travels to higher latitudes - South and North, including Antarctica, sub-Antarctic islands, Greenland, Spitzbergen, Lofoten Islands in Norway and northern Canada.Along with poems that retell some of the astonishing feats of exploration, precarious situations and fauna and flora observed, ecological matters are also included for the reader's enjoyment. Brief accounts of historic journeys, mainly in the North, complete the book with amazing tales summarised from biographical accounts, including Nansen's original journals in English.This is a great collection of images and words from parts of the world that many people can only imagine.
