Publicity and Advertising Linda intends to pursue a variety of marketing efforts, including: • Blogging and advertising on Goodreads • Will start with offering guest blog posts to the following: Faithful bloggers, Christian Devotions • Book giveaways on Goodreads and Amazon, to include advanced copy readers prior to release and signed books after release • Working with libraries for book signing opportunities, including those in Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, and Denver • Submission of articles to: Spirituality & Health magazine , Western Friend magazine, Contemplative Journal, Light from the Word and Vista, church magazines • Blogging on her spirituality website: Linda Seger • A listing in the Ingram Catalog, distributed to 220 countries and territories • Running advertisements, articles, and professional reviews with the Book Club Network each month, which reaches over 500,000 people. Linda will also be featured in chat rooms and discussions and will be featured on the cover of Book Fun magazine in March 2017. • Radio spots on shows across the nation • Press release to be sent out to key audiences, including print and online sources nationwide • Reach out to churches nationally, including: Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri (Linda’s great grandfather played an important role in this church), the Catholic church, Protestant churches, synagogues, and mosques • Online newsletters/sources dedicated to devotional pieces: Christian Devotions, Light from the Word, The Secret Place, Upper Room • Speeches at churches in Denver and Colorado Springs, perhaps other churches in cities where she's giving seminars or other cities in Colorado. Linda has a marketing team working with her to maximize exposure with social media, with the media nationally and internationally, with churches and other groups, and on the Internet. The team will also be working on getting the book into hospital bookstores, Christian bookstores, and mainstream bookstores. Reflections with God While Waiting to Be Healed focuses on giving people hope and a voice in the midst of illness. Her main message will be that God is in our lives every day and with meditation and centering, life can be more full and filled with hope. Linda travels throughout the world for business and will be speaking to various denominations across many faiths in churches worldwide. Linda has already received invitations to meet with groups in Iran, India, and Georgia related to her consulting business and plans to ask to speak about The Alphabet Prayer and Reflections with God While Waiting to Be Healed. This book has twenty-six prayers and reflections based on the alphabet to memorize and guide you. Each illustrated prayer focuses on the different names and qualities of God.In 2001, Peter and Linda were ready to start a vacation when Peter herniated two discs in his spine and was flat on his back for three months. The pain of the injury was crippling and overwhelming. Quieting down seemed more nurturing than acting up. Peter's years spent as a Quaker learning to listen and ponder in silent worship came to his aid. He prayed and, at one point, distinctly felt the remarkable hand of God. He had read the Bible before, but now turned to Psalms and the Gospels with which he felt the healing reverberations. While Peter was healing, he began a ritual of prayer. First he’d recite The Lord’s Prayer and the Prayer of Jabez. Then, he said his own prayers, expressing his needs and wants. In order to remember all the requests, Peter began creating the Alphabet Prayer, such as: "Compassionate God, Calm Me and Comfort Me and Forgiving Father, Feed Me with Faith and Favor." He eventually mentioned The Alphabet Prayer to his wife, an author. Linda replied, “Honey, I think you have a book!” Linda suggested they add to it further by drawing on the many names and attributes of God. They then asked a calligrapher to illustrate it. Linda and Peter are both Christians, but they tested the book with Christians, Jews, and Muslims, all of whom found it resonated emotionally and intellectually with them. Even an agnostic was surprised by how much he liked it, and found it clever and wise!
