Friedrich Lücke (1791–1855)

This work presents a biography of Friedrich Lucke (1791-1855), the early-19th century theologian whose works are important in regard to research on the New Testament and early Jewish apocalyptism. This volume examines Lucke's life and includes extensive discussion of his works. Part 1 includes the biography with extensive discussion of the works; Lucke's hermeneutics; commentary on the Gospel of John and the Johannine letters; introduction to the Revelation of John; and relation to the Goettingen Seven. Part 2 includes a bibliography; archival material on academic activity; and letter edition with many comments.
