"Gr 2-6–A picture book that sets out to make physics accessible to younger readers by connecting physics concepts to home. The book starts with a short conversation between two people, one trying to convince the other that physics is not only important but interesting and relatable. There is a table of contents along with a visual guide to the contents, showing different parts of the house with page numbers, so readers are invited to start reading at any point in the book. Each room has at least four pages devoted to ideas connected to that space. For example, the bathroom has information on fog on the mirror (precipitated water vapor), water flowing from the tap, water flowing out of the tub, the mechanics of a shaving or make-up mirror, static electricity in your hair and the odors of the bathroom. Each idea presented offers short text on what’s happening and why, as well as cartoon images to support it. Readers can skip around anyway they like, following their curiosity. This is not for reading aloud but will make an excellent resource for children to pore over. VERDICT This is an excellent introduction to physics in a highly relatable format and a strong choice for libraries." —Debbie Tanner, School Library Journal

Physics - and all of the sciences, for that matter! - were not my strong suit in school. This volume would have proved exponentially helpful. Complex topics are presented in a phenomenally accessible and entertaining way, leaving readers not only wanting to read more but also learning a ton along the way. The illustrations are similarly endearing, bringing humor and relatability to each and every room of the house." —Olivia the Librarian, IG
