Case Studies in Special Education and Additional Learning is part of a supplemental series highlighting current issues and trends in education of students with disabilities. This text connects theories and practices to real-world applications. It encourages an active, constructivist learning style, communication and collaboration in problem solving, allowing the instructor to have students utilize skills in evaluation, synthesis and reasoning, essential higher order thinking skills. Each case study provides relevant demographics and sufficient detail so that the closing questions evoke critical problem-solving skills.

The authors have designed this text in a way that can be utilized in both undergraduate and graduate courses essentially integrated across all education courses that address disability and special education. The cases address very important foundational areas such as educational disability categories, legal issues, trauma informed and inclusive practices among many other central areas in education.
