Ahmet Emin Erbaycu Editor

Mustafa Berktaş graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1983. He practiced medicine in Tokat, Afyonkarahisar, and Izmir. He specialized in Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine. In 1993, he moved to Van and undertook founding roles at Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Medicine, including the Head of the Main Science Branch and the Chief Physician at the University Health and Application Hospital. Alongside his administrative duties at the Health Sciences Institute, he also successfully carried out the duties of the Regional Medical Chamber Presidency. After his academic endeavours, he earned the title of Associate Professor in 1996 and Professor in 2003 at the same university. During this time, he published around 250 articles at both national and international levels. In 2017, he was appointed as the founding rector of Izmir Bakircay University. In addition to his role as the Rector of Izmir Bakircay University, Prof. Berktaş also serves as a member of the Science Board of the Health Institutes Presidency, member of the Ministry of Health Medical Specialization Board, and President of the Medical Health Sciences Education Council within the Higher Education Board.

Abdulkadir Hiziroglu has been in academia since 2001, starting his career as a Research Assistant and worked in Informatics Department & Distance Education Centre of Sakarya University. He obtained as BEng degree from Sakarya University Industrial Engineering Department in 2001 and a Master’s degree in the same area in 2003, and pursued a PhD degree at Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. After the completion of the PhD in 2009, he has served as an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering & Management Information Systems Departments at Sakarya University. During the periods between 2013 and 2018, Dr Hiriroglu worked in two different universities in Ankara; Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and Social Sciences University of Ankara. He became an Associate Professor degree in 2014 in Management Information Systems area. Currently, he is a full-time Professor in Management Information Systems Department Decision Sciences Unit at Izmir Bakırçay University. He has project experience in inter-disciplinary areas at national & EU-level and worked as Project Coordinator for some EU-funded projects. Besides his academic duties, he has carried out administrative duties at Sakarya University as European Union Framework Programs Coordinator, and Vice Dean and Head of Marketing Department at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, and the General Coordinator of Rectorate Committees at Social Sciences University of Ankara. He has also worked as Secretary General for İzmir Bakırçay University between the period of January 2018 and June 2020 and is now working as Vice Rector for R&D and Entrepreneurship.

Ahmet Emin Erbaycu, he was born in Zonguldak in 1968. He graduated from TED Zonguldak College in 1986 and from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. He worked at Kosovo Hospital / Saray-Bosnia and Zonguldak Chest Diseases Hospital. He did his compulsory service in Şebinkarahisar, Giresun. Between 1993-1997, he completed his residency in "Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis" at Izmir Dr. Suat Seren Chest Diseases and Surgery Training and Research Hospital. He completed 16 months of military service in Iskenderun.

In 2002, he received his qualification (BOARD) certificate in Chest Diseases. In 2000-2004, he completed the Psychodrama Training of Dr. Abdülkadir Özbek Psychodrama Institute under the direction of Dr. Emre Kapkın. He served as "Deputy Chief Physician" in 2004-2006, "Chief Physician" in 2011-2014 and "Secretary General of Izmir North Public Hospitals" in 2015-2017.

In 2010, he received the title of "Associate Professor of Chest Diseases". In 2018, he was appointed as a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Health Sciences. He is currently working as Vice Rector and Head of the Department of Chest Diseases at Izmir Bakırçay University.

Orhan Er, received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees from the Sakarya University of Turkey, in 2001, 2004, and 2009, respectively, B.Sc., M.Sc. degrees in computer engineering and Ph.D. degree in electronics engineering. He worked in different departments including Computers Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering departments since 2002. Currently, he is a Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at İzmir Bakırçay University. His research interests are performance modelling and optimization of machine learning, artificial neural networks and artificial immune systems applications in healthcare. His academic research includes areas such as artificial intelligence, decision support systems and data analytics. In particular, he has interest in decision support systems based on health data. I am also involved in feature engineering, where artificial intelligence algorithms are applied to various models.

He also has extensive experience in teaching numerous undergraduate and postgraduate courses. His primary aim is to ensure a comprehensive understanding and enhancement of each student's knowledge/skills. He strives to provide students with the use of all available tools for learning contemporary methodologies, problem solving skills and the study of models.

Sezer Bozkus Kahyaoglu graduated from Bosporus University, Istanbul in 1993 with a B.Sc. Honors degree in Management. She obtained a Master’s degree in Money Banking and Finance from Sheffield University, Sheffield, UK and a Certification in Retail Banking from Manchester Business School, UK, both with a joint scholarship of British Council and Turkish Bankers Association. After finishing her doctoral studies, she earned a doctorate in Econometrics from Dokuz Eylul University in 2015. Sezer worked in the banking between 1993 and 2004 in various senior positions. She worked at the Turkish Derivatives Exchange (TurkDEX- VOB) for 2 years as a founding member and head of Audit and Investigations Department. In addition, Sezer worked in KPMG Risk Consulting Services as Senior Manager between the years 2007 and 2012. Afterwards, she joined Grant Thornton as founding partner of advisory services and Business Risk Services. Then, Dr. Sezer worked in SMM Technology and Risk Consulting as Partner responsible for ERP Risk Consulting. During this period, Sezer had been a lecturer in Istanbul Bilgi University at Accounting and Auditing Program for eight semesters (2008-2014) and Ankara University Internal Control and Internal Audit Program between 2015 and 2017 for two semesters. Sezer has been an Associate Professor with Izmir Bakircay University since 2018. Sezer has joined University of South Africa (UNISA) and University of Johannesburg in 2022 as academic associate to contribute more to international literature. Sezer has certifications of CIA, CFSA, CRMA, CICP, CFE and CPA as well. Her research interests mainly include AI and Blockchain-based Implementations, Applied Econometrics, Time Series Analysis, Financial Markets and Instruments, Energy Markets, Corporate Governance, Sustainability, Risk Management, Fraud Accounting, Auditing, Coaching, Mentoring and NLP. She has numerous refereed articles, books and book chapters. In addition, Sezer is an active member of both IIA and ACFE and supporting the profession by being CREA member (IIA Global), CBOK Steering Committee member (IIA Global), Advisory Board member (ACFE Global), Management Board Member (ACFE-Turkey Chapter), CFE Exam Content Development Committee Member (ACFE Global), Good Governance Academy (GGA) Research Steering Committee Member, Scientific Committee Member of Health Institute of Türkiye.
