Alfredo Bautista Editor

​Dr. Alfredo Bautista was born and raised in Spain and studied psychology (emphasis: teaching and learning) and music (classical piano and music theory). After completing his Ph.D. at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, he worked as Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and Tufts University in Boston, the USA. Subsequently, he joined Singapore’s National Institute of Education, where he served as Research Scientist and Assistant Dean (Professional Learning). Currently, Dr. Bautista is Associate Professor in the Department of Early Childhood Education (ECE) at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). He also serves as Co-Director for the Centre for Educational and Developmental Sciences (CEDS). 

His research focuses on curriculum, pedagogy, and teacher learning. More specifically, he is interested in the analysis of instructional practices, the factors that influence curriculum and pedagogy in early childhood settings, and teacher professional development. Dr. Bautista leads and co-leads several research and development projects.
