Dr. Antonia Boström is an Assistant Curator in the Department of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the Detroit Institute of Arts. She has held curatorial positions at the Royal Academy of Arts, London; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; and the National Portrait Gallery, London. Boström earned her Ph.D. from the Courthauld Institute of Art, London University in 1996. She is a contributing author to The Medici,Michelangelo, and Late Renaissance Art in Florence,1537-1631 (Yale University Press, 2002); and Treasuresfrom the Detroit Institute of Arts: Masters ofImpressionism and Modern Art (Detroit Institute of Arts, 2001). She has authored numerous essays including "Giovanni Maria Benzoni, Randolph Rogers and the Collecting of Sculpture in Nineteenth-Century Detroit," Sculpture Journal (2000); "The Florentine Sculptor Raffaello Peri," Burlington Magazine (1998); and "The Acquisition of Flemish Landscapes for Italy on the Antwerp Art Market," Nederlands Kunsthistorisch Jaarboek (1997).
