Baseerat Afroza Author

Prof. Baseerat Afroza is presently working as Head/Professor in the Division of Vegetable Science, Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-Kashmir. She has done B.Sc, M.Sc (Vegetable Science) and Ph.D Vegetable Science from the SKUAST-K. She has been a gold medalist twice in her B.Sc as well as in Doctorate degree programme. With a distinguished career spanning 23 years, Dr. Baseerat Afroza's contributions have significantly shaped the landscape of vegetable cultivation. As Head of the Division of Vegetable Science at SKUAST-K, her dedication to understanding, combating, and safeguarding is both unwavering and inspiring. The author is the member of many reputed societies and journals. She has to her credit more than 100 research publications, popular articles, manuals and technical bulletins. She is the recipient of various awards during conferences, workshops and seminars.

Dr. Syed Berjes Zehra is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Division of Vegetable Science, Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-Kashmir. She has done B.Sc Horticulture, M.Sc Horticulture (Vegetable Science) and Ph.D Vegetable Science from the SKUAST-K.She has been a gold medalist twice in her MSc as well as PhD programme. She has been Awarded with INSPIRE Fellowship by Ministry of Science and Technology Govt. Of India during Doctoral Programme. She has also qualified ASRB/ICAR NET. The author has a Research/Teaching/Extension experience besides working in an externally funded projects as a Co-PI including AICRP on vegetable crops. The author is guiding (as advisor & co-advisor) a number of students at UG and PG level. The author has a significant contribution of working in cold-arid region of Ladakh. The author has to her credit >20 Research papers besides a number of Review articles, Magazine articles, Abstracts in National and International conferences, Book Chapters, Extension publications/Manuals/Booklets. The author has coordinated a number of trainings/workshops besides she is a life member of society for community mobilization for sustainable development.

Dr. Asima Amin is presently working as Assistant professor in Division of Vegetable Science, Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST Kashmir, Shalimar 190025 (India). She has done her B.Sc. (Agriculture) from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir, J&K, M.Sc. Vegetable Science from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab and Ph.D from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology (SKUAST), Kashmir. During her Masters programme she was awarded Merit Fellowship and is Gold Medalist in Ph. D degree programme. She has done her Post Doctorate Fellowship from Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. She has also qualified ASRB/ICAR NET. The author has Research/Teaching/Extension experience and has more than 40 research papers in national and international reputed journals with high impact factor. The author is guiding (as advisor & co-advisor) a number of students at UG and PG level. The author has to her credit a number of Review articles, Magazine articles, Abstracts in National and International conferences, Book Chapters, Extension publications/Manuals/Booklets. The author has coordinated a number of trainings/workshops. She has also to her credit 3 Edited book entitled ;Unraveling Potato Viruses: Detection, Eradication and Crop Protection” published by Elite Publishing House, ;Greenhouse Gardeners Companion” published by Elite Publishing House and ;Seed production in Vegetable Crops” published by Elite Publishing House.

Dr. Gazala Nazir is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Division of Vegetable Science, Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-Kashmir. She has done BSc Horticulture, MSc Horticulture (Vegetable Science) and Ph.D Vegetable Science from the SKUAST-K. She has also qualified ASRB/ICAR NET.The author has nine years of experience in Extension and five years of teaching experience Besides working in some externally funded projects as a Co-PI.The author is guiding (as advisor & co-advisor) a number of students at UG and PG level.. The author has coordinated a number of trainings/workshops besides she is a life member of society for community mobilization for sustainable development. The author has to her credit 27 Research papers, 6 Review articles, 6 Magazine articles, >30 Abstracts in National and International conferences, 4 Book Chapters, 11 Extension publications/Manuals/Booklets and 23 chapters in workshops/Summer schools/Seminar Proceedings, besides, she is a reviewer and life member of a number of national journals. She also has to her credit an Innovative article award (2022) for an article in Agriculture & Food: e-Newsletter. She has also organized almost 9 trainings and workshops as a co-ordinator

Dr. Ummyiah H. Masoodi is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Division of Vegetable Science, Faculty of Horticulture, SKUAST-Kashmir. She has done her BSc Agriculture, MSc Vegetable Science and PhD Vegetable Science from the same university and has been a gold medallist in her MSc as well as PhD. She has also qualified ASRB/ICAR NET. She has a teaching experience of more than 6 years at U.G. and P.G. level with a total of 87 credits for PG level courses and 71 credits for UG level courses so far. The author has supervised 16 UG students as advisor, 2 PhDs as a member of advisory committee, 8 MScs as member and 3 MScs as main advisor. The author has 11 years of research experience besides working in an externally funded project as a Co-PI. The author has to her credit 25 Research papers, 11 Review articles, 6 Magazine articles, & 40 Abstracts in National and International conferences, 19 Book Chapters, 14 Extension publications/Manuals/Booklets and 25 chapters in workshops/Summer schools/Seminar proceedings, besides, she is a reviewer and life member of a number of national journals. She also has to her credit an Innovative article award (2022) for an article in Agriculture & Food: e-Newsletter. She has also organized almost 19 trainings and workshops as a co-ordinator.
