Dr Binota Thokchom is a faculty member at the Centre of Nanotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Her research interests reach across a number of environmental issues including water related crises tied to nanomaterials, water treatment using AOPs, nanomaterial synthesis, electrode synthesis, environmental monitoring and assessment as well as simulation and prediction of environmental impacts across models. Prior to earning her PhD, she worked at the Analytical Instrumentation Division, National Environmental Engineering Research Institute. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops and seminars. She has won several awards and honors for her work, including being named a BRICS Scientist bu the Department of Science and Technology of India, working with scientists across the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) on environmental issues which impact all of these nations. Dr. Pengpeng Qiu is a researcher in the Department of Chemistry in Fudan University. His research interests include the degradation of emerging organic pollutants using various catalyzed advanced oxidation processes, alternative methods of pollutant degradation and treating pharmaceuticals and other chemical pollutants, like bisephenol-A in water systems. He has more than 20 publications to date. Dr. Pardeep Singh is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Science, PGDAV College, University of Delhi, in New Delhi, India. He obtained his PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi. Dr. Singh has published more than 65 papers in international journals in the fields of waste management, environmental pollution, and agricultural nanotechnology, and has co-edited 30 books. Parameswar Krishnan Iyer received the Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the CSIR-CSMCRI-Bhavnagar, India, in 1999. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with Technion, Haifa, Israel, from 1999 to 2001, University of California Santa Barbara, CA, USA, from 2001 to 2003, and Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA, from 2003 to 2004. In 2004, he joined the Department of Chemistry, IIT Guwahati, India, as an Assistant Professor, and has been promoted to a full-time Professor in 2013. His current research interests include the design and development of novel semiconducting polymers, oligomers and hybrid materials for optoelectronic devices, sensors, imaging and therapeutics.
