Bryony Dixon is Curator, Silent Film at the British Film Institute, UK. She is the author of 100 Silent Films (BFI Screen Guides, 2011), co-editor of Picture Perfect: Landscape, Place and Travel in British Cinema before 1930 (University of Exeter, 2007) and has written numerous articles and book chapters on silent cinema and archiving. She is also a regular contributor to Sight & Sound magazine. She has been lead curator on a number of the BFI’s recent film restorations, including Underground (1928), Wonderful London (1924), The Great White Silence (1924) and all nine surviving Hitchcock silent films.
