Carol Garhart Mooney volunteered in 1965 at the first trial run of Head Start Programs in Washington, D.C. She worked for nearly fifteen years for Head Start programs in NH, and supervised both student and practicing educators for more than twenty-five yeras. Carol served as one of the very first Child Care Administrators for the NH Department of Health and Human Services. She received the Distinguished Faculty Award for teaching at Granite State College, was twice named Early Educator of the year, and won New Hampshire Press Woman's Awards for Family Pages. Carol is also a past president of NHAEYC. Carol is the author of Theories of Childhood, now in its second edition, Theories of Attachment, Theories of Teaching, Swinging Pendulums: Cautionary Tales for Early Educators, and Choose Your Words (available from Redleaf Press February 2018), an updated edition to Use Your Words.
