Carol Salomon Translator

Alan W. Entwistle at the time of his death in 1996 was Associate Professor of Hindi at the University of Washington. His research specializations were early Hindi language and Indian religions, particularly Hinduism and Sufism. Although he has published widely on many aspects of north Indian literature, language, and culture, he is best remembered for his Braj, Center of Krishna Pilgrimage (1987).

Carol Salomon is Affiliate Assistant Professor of Bengali at the University of Washington. She obtained her Ph.D. in 1983 from the University of Pennsylvania. Her fields of specialization include Bengali literature, both modern and medieval, the Bauls and their songs, and Islam in West Bengal and Bangladesh.
