Chris Gamble Author

Chris Gamble always wrote short stories from a young age. His earliest memory was drawing comics which he found great fun. Now he's a family man living in a little village called Skewen, South Wales. Chris has a beautiful and very supportive wife, plus two children, three step children, one grandchild, three dogs and one hamster so home life is always hectic but he loves it. He's into sport especially football and follows Swansea City FC. His work life previously consisted of inside and outside catering but more recently he's taken on the role of a mental health support worker, something totally different but which he's enjoying tremendously. His one big passion is of course writing and creating new characters. Before he struggled to put his ideas on paper, but since lockdown he's been determined to finally fulfil his dream and passion. Chris White has made many appearances at literary festivals, in a range of weird and wonderful places, including The Edinburgh Fringe, The Edinburgh Book Festival, The Doha Book Festival and The Cheltenham Book Festival, as well as in schools, theatres and libraries around the globe, and he has had many poetry and storybooks published since his first, 'Bitey, the Veggie Vampire', in 2000 and he has inspired countless children around the world to be creative; write their own stories and poems; and pick up a pencil and start scribbling their own illustrations; and has had his poems and pictures broadcast on both television and radio. Chris's poetry performances and writing workshops have seen him visit schools in China, Russia, Vietnam, Jordan, Egypt, India, Germany and even The Congo; where he held a poetry and illustration workshop in a cave! Chris was recently Writer in Residence at the Qatar National Library.
