He is Co-Director of the Social Change and Transgressive Studies Project at John Jay College, co-editor-in-chief of Critical Criminology: An International Journal and the founding editor of the book series Studies in Transgression (Temple). He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the ASC Division on Critical Criminology & Social Justice in 2023.
