Edward Gonzalez is professor emeritus at U.C.L.A., where he taught political science. Over the past thirty-three years he has published academic studies on various aspects of the Cuban revolution as well as RAND reports on U.S. policy toward the Cuban government. Among his major writings is Cuba under Castro: The Limits of Charisma.
