Edward W. Hanson, formerly the Senior Associate Editor of the Massachusetts Historical Society, is a priest in the Church of England. He is an editor of volume 3 of The Papers of Robert Treat Paine and coeditor of volumes 1 and 2 with Stephen T. Riley.
