Salikoko S. Mufwene is the Edward Carson Waller Distinguished Service Professor of Linguistics at the University of Chicago. His notable publications include: The Ecology of Language Evolution (CUP, 2001), Language Evolution (Continuum Press, 2008) and Ecological Perspectives on Language Endangerment and Loss (Springer Nature, 2025). He is a fellow of the Linguistic Society of America, the American Philosophical Society, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Enoch O. Aboh is Professor of linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on comparative syntax, language creation and change. His main publications include The Emergence of Hybrid Grammars, (CUP, 2015) and The Morphosyntax of Head-Complement Sequences (OUP 2004). He is a founding member of the African Linguistics School (ALS).
