Erik T. Withers, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He has co-edited special issues of two peer reviewed sociological journals, Humanity and Society and Sociological Imagination. He has also published journal articles and book reviews in journals such as The American Behavioral Scientist, Sociology Compass, The Journal of Consumer Culture, Sociological Inquiry, and Symbolic Interaction. He is particularly interested in the areas and intersections of race and culture, whiteness, consumer culture, and masculinity. He resides and explores in North Western Wisconsin’s St. Croix River Valley.
David L. Brunsma is Professor of Sociology at Virginia Tech. He is founding co-editor of Sociology of Race and Ethnicity, the official journal of the Section of Racial and Ethnic Minorities at the American Sociological Association as well as the founding co-editor of the University of Georgia Press book series of the same name. His research is currently focused on understanding the ways that whitespaces function across multiple domains of social and cultural life. He lives, learns, and loves in Blacksburg, VA with his family.
