Floor Martens Author

Floor Martens (b. 1998, Reuver, the Netherlands) is a visual artist and photographer based in Maastricht and Antwerp. A graduate of the Maastricht Institute of Arts (2019), Martens’ practice examines transformation processes in humans, animals, and nature. Her work explores themes of intimacy, emotion, and material decay, often merging analogue photography with text, sound, installation, and sculpture. By intervening in natural cycles or preserving traces of loss, Martens seeks to hold on to memory and reveal beauty in impermanence. Her work has been exhibited in institutions such as Marres (House for Contemporary Culture) and featured in various artistic collaborations and publications. Verstrengeld marks her debut monograph and consolidates her poetic and interdisciplinary visual language. At the moment she is pursuing a Master's degree in photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
