Florin Bobaru Editor

Florin Bobaru is a Professor and the Hegenrader Distinguished Scholar in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was one of the first contributors to peridymamic modeling of material failure. He has published extensively on peridynamic modeling of dynamic brittle fracture, fracture in composites, corrosion damage, and thermomechanical fracture, including as the main editor of a book on peridynamic modeling. Ziguang Chen is a Professor in the Department of Mechanics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. Dr. Chen’s joint paper with Dr. Bobaru published in Journal of Mechanics and Solids in 2015 is the original work on the new peridynamic models for corrosion damage and has already been cited over 60 times. Since 2014 he has been working on peridynamic models in thermo-mechanics, modeling of corrosion damage, and fracture in composites and porous materials. Siavash Jafarzadeh received his BSc (2011) and MSc (2015) in Mechanical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology. In 2016, he started his PhD program in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA. His doctoral research is focused on computational modeling of corrosion damage and stress corrosion cracking, using peridynamic theory.
