Gale Wilhelm Author

Gale Wilhelm was born in Eugene, Oregon in 1908 and grew up in Oregon and Idaho. She moved to Berkeley, California in 1923 and, aside from a year in New York City in the mid-1930s, lived in northern California thereafter. After publishing several short stories, she signed with Random House to publish her first novel, We Too Are Drifting, in 1935. She published five more novels over the next ten years but appears to have stopped writing after 1945. She lived with Helen Page in Oakdale, California until 1948, then moved to Berkeley, where she lived with Kathleen Huebner until her death in 1991.
