Guy M Author

Sergeant Major Guy M. is a combat paramedic in Unit 669, the elite Combat Rescue Unit—one of the IDF’s four top-tier special forces units and widely regarded as one of the toughest in the world.

Guy has taken part in countless high-risk missions and operations. On October 7th, he was among the first teams to reach the Gaza Envelope, responding to the deadliest terror attack in Israeli history.

Beyond the battlefield, Guy is a permanent lecturer in senior IDF command courses, training the next generation of military leaders at institutions such as the Naval Academy, Unit 8200, and the IDF Officer Training School.

In parallel, he leads a department at a world-leading medical research center, writes as a columnist for Israel’s top newspapers, and is the author of Full Throttle—a diary from his service in Unit 669 that became a bestseller and essential reading for teens preparing for elite IDF service.

His latest book, The Rescue: October 7 Through the Eyes of Israel’s Pararescue Commandos, is the only firsthand account written by soldiers who fought on the ground during the October 7 massacre. It captures the impossible decisions, split-second rescues, and heroism of the men who ran into the chaos to save lives.

Guy has also led humanitarian missions around the world, including establishing an EMS system in Central America and leading Africa’s first COVID-19 vaccination rollout.

His full name is concealed by order of the Israeli government due to the sensitivity of his position.
