Harriet Monroe (1860–1936) was the author of three collections of poetry: Valeria and Other Poems, Dance of the Seasons, and You and I, as well as an autobiography, A Poet's Life: Seventy Years in a Changing World. Monroe was the founding editor of Poetry magazine and led the journal for twenty-four years.
Kevin McMullen is a research associate professor in the English department at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He is the project manager of both the Walt Whitman Archive and the Charles W. Chesnutt Archive, as well as the cocreator and editor of a digital edition of the newspaper writings of Fanny Fern (http://fannyfern.org). He also served as co-editor, with his students, of Fidelity: An Annotated Edition by Susan Glaspell.
