School), Ph.D., D.Sc., F.T.W.A.S., F.N.A., F.N.A.Sc., F.Z.S., F.N.A.A.S., F.A.M.S., F.P.A.S., F.A.M.I., F.S.C.G. , former Vice-Chancellor Panjab University, Chandigarh & Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (Central University), Lucknow is a scientist, an able administrator and dynamic institution builder. Starting his career as a Cytogeneticist, he moved on to explore the developments in his area of interest and evaluated the role of gene polymorphism & their expression in the genesis of various cancer, COPD, AIDS and metabolic syndrome. Currently he is involved in the development of whole organ by tissue/organ culture through custom designed decellularization protocol. He has demonstrated that the regulation of stem cell character under in vitro conditions is a function of morphological assortment of Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLNC)-an observation that has marked significance in the field of Stem Cell research. Dr. Sobti, an active researcher, is also steadfastly committed to the popularization of science in the community through popular lectures and community engagement programs. He is a Fellow of the Third World Academy of Science, National Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy, National Academics of Medical Sciences and Agricultural Sciences and of the Canadian Academy of Cardiovascular Diseases and few others. Dr. Sobti is the recipient of many prestigious awards like, the INSA Young Scientist Medal, UGC Career Award, Punjab Rattan Award, JC Bose Oration and Sriram Oration Awards and of his Life Time Achievement Awards of the Punjab Academy of Sciences, Zoology Society of India, and the Environment Academy of India, besides many other medals and awards of national and International levels. He has published more than 300 papers in the national and international journal of repute. He has also published 40 plus books. Keeping is view his contributions to education, he was bestowed with one of the highest civilian awards PADMASHRI by the Government of India in 2009. Dr. Awtar Krishan PhD is a world-renowned scientist. He obtained his PhD from Panjab University (1962) and the Univ. of Western Ontario, Canada (1963) in Cytogenetics and Anatomy. From 1965 to 1977, he was at the Sidney Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School as Head of the Tissue Ultrastructure and Experimental Pathology Labs. He has developed flow cytometric techniques for rapid analysis of DNA content by hypotonic propidium iodide, monitoring of drug retention and resistance, and more recently for monitoring hormone receptor expression in archival tumors. He is currently Director, Analytical Cytometry Laboratory, at University of Miami. Dr. Haruhiko Sugimura MD, PhD obtained his PhD in pathology by the pathological study of acute on chronic liver disease and joined the Division of Epidemiology, National Cancer Center Research Institute, Tokyo as a Research Resident, and began a case-control study of multiple primary lung cancer. He moved to the National Cancer Institute, NIH, Bethesda, USA as a postdoctoral fellow in Molecular Epidemiology, Division of Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis, led by Dr Curtis Harris. After finishing his postdoctoral fellowship in NIH, he came back as an assistant professor of the Department of Pathology, the University of Tokyo, and was invited as an Associate Professor of the 1st Department of Pathology (Professor Kino) at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine. Dr. Sugimura introduced the modern platform of molecular pathology and established a very active team having several young graduate students and postdocs. His expertise covers the molecular pathology and molecular epidemiology of human cancers, focusing on individual cancer susceptibility. Carrying out Research in the Department of Immunotechnology, Lund University, Lund, Sweden, under CanFaster, Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND programme. She has a background in dental sciences and did a specialization in master’s in Clinical Dentistry (Oral surgery) from Eastman College, UCL, London. Her core interests are head and neck cancer-based clinical research. In entirety aiding in the field to bring reforms that are required in the present multifarious surgical as well as translational research areas.
