Ilona Wiśniewska Author

Ilona Wiśniewska is a Polish reporter, photographer and author based in the Norwegian Arctic. Her work focuses on life in the polar regions of the Arctic, particularly Greenland and Svalbard. Wiśniewska has published four acclaimed non-fiction books – of which Far: In the North of Norway won the National Geographic Traveler Award in 2017 – and was a recipient of the Golden Owl for Literature Prize in 2019. In 2023, Migot (Glimmer) received the Grand Press Award for Reporter's Book of the Year.

Kate Webster is an acclaimed translator of Polish literature, arts and academia. Her translation of Barbara Sadurska’s The Map was shortlisted for the Oxford-Weidenfeld Prize, and her translation of Urszula Honek’s White Nights was longlisted for the International Booker Prize and shortlisted for the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation.  She has also translated short stories and essays for various anthologies.
