Tushar Sharma, PhD, is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, India. He is also the Head and Lead Instructor at the Enhanced Oil Laboratory at RGIPT. His main areas of research include enhanced oil recovery, nanofluids, emulsions, and rheology. Dr. Sharma also has expertise in the handling of rheometers, core-flooding equipment, surface tensiometers, hydrates, well testing, computational fluid dynamics, and rock geomechanics. He reviews articles for international peer-reviewed journals and has authored over 40 papers in leading international journals. Among other research work, Dr. Sharma has filed two patents for consideration with the Indian Patent Registry. Dr. Sharma worked as a visiting research fellow at the University of Alberta, Canada, on a project funded by the Canadian Government. This project focused on the solvent-heavy oil interactions and microfluidic visualization for solvent-steam assisted heavy oil recovery. Dr. Sharma has conducted training seminars for engineers from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (India). Dr. Sharma is also the faculty coordinator of the RGIPT Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPE) student chapter. Dr. Sharma is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Dr. Sharma received his doctoral degree from IIT Madras for his work on Pickering emulsions and their application in EOR.

Krishna Raghav Chaturvedi is a Senior Research Fellow in Enhanced Oil Recovery at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, India. He attained his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun and RGIPT, respectively. His research focuses on the synthesis of novel single-step silica nanofluids for improved CO2 flow behavior and reduced formation damage. Primarily, this work focuses on the development of new nanomaterials for improving the efficacy of CO2-based EOR in depleted oil fields and involves the use of core-flooding equipment, HR-TEM, SEM/EDX and high-pressure reactors for CO2-absorption studies. Mr. Chaturvedi has published 19 papers in internationally recognized journals and filed two patents with the Indian patent registry. Before joining research, he worked as a Real-time Drill Log Analyst for oil rigs working on the US shale patches in Midland and Oklahoma, USA.

Tarek Ganat, PhD, joined the Petroleum Engineering Department at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia, as a lecturer in 2017. Dr. Ganat has BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees, all in petroleum engineering, and has more than 25 years of experience in petroleum production and reservoir engineering through his participation in integrated studies with different oil and gas companies, such as Gowoff Oil Company, Libya; Repsol Exploration Company, Spain; Petro-Canada Oil Company, Canada; and Petronas Grigali Oil Company, Malaysia. His professional experience comes from his work in the oil and gas industry in tanning centers and from his work that focused on subsurface evaluation for green fields and brown fields. He has a wide range of overseas experience gained in fractured carbonate and clastic reservoir characterization and full field development. He also has considerable experience in the application of petroleum-industry related packages in multinational and multicultural joint ventures. He has authored two textbooks published with Springer and has published many papers in journals and conferences (ISI [Q1 & Q2] journals and Scopus). In addition, he is one of the reviewers for the Journal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology. Dr. Ganat managed to secure two research grants pertaining to Petronas Oil Company as project leader, with a cumulative amount of about RM380,000.

Imtiaz Ali currently works as the Head of the Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta, Pakistan. Mr. Ali obtained his bachelor’s degree in Petroleum and Gas Engineering from Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) and a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mr. Ali worked with the Oil & Gas Development Company, Pakistan, before going on to associate with the KSU as a researcher, wherein he developed a rock scratching cell for determination of different rock mechanical properties. His areas of interest also include working on the impact of in situ stresses on hydrocarbons drilling and production along with developing correlations between UCS vs rock mechanical rock properties. He is currently pursuing his PhD at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS under the supervision of Dr. Maqsood Ahmad and Dr. Tarek Ganat. Mr. Ali has had a long association with the BUITEMS Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering and plays a crucial role in training the future hydrocarbon workforce of Pakistan.
