Jesse James Author

Jesse James is a historian, lawyer, and Classicist. He earned his J.D. at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and practiced law for several years in Manhattan, litigating disputes at state, federal, and international levels. He then earned his Ph.D. in Classics at Columbia University. He has held fellowships at Harvard Law School, the American School for Classical Studies at Athens, the Columbia Institute for Ideas and Imagination in Paris, and the Kommission für Alte Geschichte in Munich. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Classics at Grinnell College.
