Lisa Richter is a Toronto-based poet, writer, and educator. She is the author of Closer to Where We Began and Nautilus and Bone, which won the Canadian Jewish Literary Award for Poetry, the National Jewish Book Award for Poetry (US), the Robert Kroetsch Award, and was longlisted for the Raymond Souster Award. Her work has been longlisted for the CBC Poetry Prize, a finalist for a National Magazine Award, and has been published widely in journals and anthologies, including Best Canadian Poetry, Plenitude, The Literary Review of Canada, The Fiddlehead, and The Malahat Review. Richter has taught and mentored emerging writers through the Writers Collective of Canada, Poetry in Voice, Sage Hill Writing, and University of Guelph-Humber. She is currently completing her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Guelph and working on her next book, a hybrid memoir.
