M. Lane Bruner (PhD, University of Washington) is Professor of Rhetoric and Politics in the Department of Communication at Georgia State University. He is the co-editor of Market Democracy in Post-Communist Russia and the author of Democracy's Debt: The Historical Tensions Between Political and Economic Liberty, Strategies of Remembrance: The Rhetorical Dimensions of National Identity Construction, and numerous essays and book chapters on the relationship between communication and political power.
