Maarja Pärtna (1986) is an Estonian poet, editor and translator with four poetry collections: At the Grassroots (2010), which was shortlisted for the Betti Alver Debut Award, Thresholds and Pillars (2013), [becoming] (2015) and Vivarium (2019). She has won the Juhan Liiv Poetry Award and is the co-founder of the poetry press Elusamus. Her poems, which have been translated into numerous languages, weave connections between the human and non-human worlds and address issues of identity and belonging. Jayde Will (1978) is a literary translator. He has an M.A. in Fenno-Ugric Linguistics from Tartu University. His translations of Latvian, Lithuanian, and Estonian authors have been published in numerous journals, including Poetry Review, Trafika and Mantis, as well as anthologies such as the Dedalus Book of Lithuanian Literature and several Best European Fiction anthologies. He has also translated subtitles for numerous films, including the Lithuanian classic The Devil’s Bride and the award-winning Vanishing Waves.
