Makau Mutua is Dean, SUNY Distinguished Professor, Professor of Law, Floyd H. and Hilda L. Hurst Faculty Scholar, and Director of the Human Rights Center at the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. He is the author of Human Rights: A Political and Cultural Critique, also published by the University of Pennsylvania Press.
