Prof. Maochun Hong graduated from the Nagoya University in Japan and is now working at Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of matter. He was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. He has been engaged in inorganic chemistry for a long time and has designed and synthesized metal-organic nano-cages, tubes, and wires by chemical self-assembly method. Metallic graphite polymers, metal-organic polymers with nano-pores, and novel mixed polymers of rare earth and transition metals were synthesized systematically. In the “Nano-functional molecules” and “New inorganic-organic polymer” inorganic frontier to make contributions to the field. He has won numerous awards for his work in the design and synthesis of new inorganic polymer, as well as in the study of their structure and performance.
