Ana Sanches-Silva holds a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and a European Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain, where she was awarded two prizes for best Ph.D. After 10 years (2007-2017) as a researcher at the National Institute of Health Dr Ricardo (Lisbon, Portugal), she joined the National Institute of Agrarian and Veterinary Research (INIAV, I.P.) as a staff researcher in 2017 and is a member of the executive board of CECA. Dr. Sanches-Silva has an extensive publication record, including over 150 scientific contributions in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, 4 books, a Scopus H index of 30, and over 2500 citations. Her research focuses on the development and validation of analytical methodologies/tools, especially LC-MS/MS, for the analysis of food components and food contaminants, and the development of novel packaging, including active, bio, and nano packaging.
