Sagar Nikam is working as a lecturer at Ulster University (Derry~Londonderry Campus). He completed PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Indore. Thereafter, he joined Birla Institute of Technology Mesra as an Assistant Professor. Before joining as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in the School of Computing, Engineering, and Intelligent Systems at Ulster University, Magee Campus, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in developing the simulation for the selective laser melting process. His research interest is in Additive manufacturing with a particular interest in developing process simulation models for metal additive manufacturing processes. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered with IMechE: Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Shaun McFadden completed his PhD from University College Dublin (2007) in the area of computational microstructure prediction during solidification of alloys with a particular focus on macrostructure development under microgravity conditions. He held academic positions in the Technological University of Dublin and in Trinity College Dublin (University of Dublin) before joining Ulster University in 2015, where he is a lecturer in the School of Computing, Engineering, and Intelligent Systems. He has published widely in areas related to materials science, both fundamental and practical, and has experience of researching and supervising research in the areas of metal additive manufacturing, microstructure modelling, crystal growth experimentation, and joining technology for thin-walled structures. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered with Engineers Ireland.
