Constance J. Moore is a Theodore Roosevelt researcher based in El Paso, Texas. Her curiosity about Maria Longworth Storer began with a phone call to the archives at St. Ursula Academy that launched a seven-year collaboration with Nancy Broermann. Together, they uncovered letters in American and European archives, interviewed Maria's great grandsons in France, and co-authored a biography illuminating Maria's remarkable life. Constance served for 25 years in the U.S. Army in psychiatric nursing, hospital education, and academic roles. Her notable assignments included serving as the Army Nursing Corps Historian and as a member of the Pentagon Crisis Management Team after the 9/11 attacks. She has written extensively on nursing history and healthcare topics and holds degrees from Iowa State University, Seattle University, and San Jose State University.
Nancy M. Broermann has always had a deep interest in Cincinnati's history. While working as an archivist for the Ursuline Sisters at St. Ursula Academy (SUA), she discovered that Maria Longworth Storer and her husband Bellamy lived at SUA for nearly four years. This discovery sparked a collaboration that led to a seven-year research journey and the co-authorship of Maria Longworth Storer: From Music and Art to Popes and Presidents. Nancy has previously researched and written for several county histories and has authored or co-authored four family history books. She earned her degree from the University of Cincinnati and taught elementary school in Ohio, Illinois, and Texas.
