Cem Ünsalan, PhD, has been a full professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Yeditepe University since 2013. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the same university. Dr. Ünsalan also worked as a full professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Marmara University, Turkey, between 2017 and 2023. He served as the department head there for four years. Dr. Ünsalan received his BSc (1995) from Hacettepe University, Turkey; his MSc from Bogazici University, Turkey (1998); and his PhD (2003) from The Ohio State University, USA. Dr. Ünsalan has published four books on microcontrollers and FPGA systems. The two microcontroller books are on Texas Instrument’s MSP430 and MSP432 architecture. The third book is on ARM Cortex M microcontrollers. The FPGA book is on Xilinx’s Artix7 FPGA chip. All these books aim to introduce basic embedded system concepts through practical applications. He has also published books on computer vision and image understanding.

Ozan Durgut is an Embedded Linux Engineer at Analog Devices. He is also pursuing his MSc degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. Durgut received his BSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Marmara University, Türkiye, in 2024, where he graduated as valedictorian of his class. His research interests include image processing and computer vision, with a particular focus on resource-constrained embedded platforms. He received the IEEE Young Researchers Best Paper Award in 2024.
